Bach Flower Remedies – Gentle Healing from within

Bach flower remedy is an alternate form of healing that aids in soothing aches, pains and emotional traumas. Discovered in early 1900s by Dr Edward Bach, a medical and homeopath doctor – this form of complementary and alternative treatment has gained wide-scale acceptance across the world.
The remedies are made from extracts of wild flowers and are therefore completely natural and free of any chemicals. Bach flower medicines do not work on physical ailments directly, but instead target the emotions influencing the pain and try to heal it from its root. Dr. Bach believed that pains and diseases were caused due to negative emotional state such as fear or anxiety, and if that could be healed, the disease would get healed as well. He believed that this remedy leveraged the life force energy or positive vibrations present in the flower. It interacted with the energy level of the individual being treated and rebalanced the energy levels. He identified flowers that had positive healing properties that could counteract the negative emotions and help the mind gain peace and positivity.
As per research, some of the flowers identified by Dr. Bach that acted as remedy to negative emotions are:
– Aspen – Targets fear of unknown
– Cherry plum – Alleviates fear of losing control
– Chicory – Curbs possessive love or selfishness
– Crab apple – Removes poor body image
Dr. Bach mixed fresh flowers or plants into natural spring water and then expose it to sunlight or boil it. Further, he would filter the liquid and create the “mother tincture”. He used brandy as a preservative and added it to the mixture. Today other non alcoholic forms also available – such as the ones made in glycerin
Many psychologists, natural healers and counsellors have taken help of Bach flower remedies to help their patients. The remedy is created by identifying the issue and choosing the relevant flower that can be an effective treatment for it. The healer may choose to use more than one flower and create a mixture that could then be used by the patient. Bach water is a long-term treatment plan. It usually comes in a glass bottle with a dropper and the amount to be taken will be specified by the healer. From the 38 mother tinctures – 2 million + combinations are possible. Hence Dr Bach ensured that almost all mental and emotional issues are covered through these remedy combinations
There are no side effects of taking Bach remedies as they use only natural extracts from the flowers. Research has proven them to be safe for consumption.Today, Bach remedies are also present as perfume sprays and bath salts.
